Cost of the funeral
At Harrison's we will help you to create a meaningful funeral based on your personal, cultural and financial needs. We understand the importance of creating the type of funeral you and your family wish to have, whilst keeping the cost within your financial means.
You can call our consultants and get a quote or alternatively we can post this information out to you.
There are four main costs associated with funerals.
Professional Fee
- Care and support from our staff 24 hours a day
- Assisting you to create a meaningful funeral
- Placement of funeral notices
- Registration of death and obtaining a death certificate
- Providing certified copies of the death certificate for you to be able to supply to banks, solicitors, etc.
- Helping to chose clergy or a celebrant that is right for you and liaising with them to create an individual service
- Liaising with florists, musicians, caterers and other service providers that may be required
- Provision of adequate staff on the day
- Use of Hearse (if required)
- A viewing the evening before or prior to the service
- Use of our lounge
- Provision of refreshments
Transfer/Mortuary Fee
This fee is for the transfer of the deceased from Hospital, Nursing Home or Home of the deceased and the preparation and care of your loved one.
Coffin or Casket
The cost of the Coffin/Casket depends on the type chosen, whether you chose a solid timber coffin, the type of finish it has and the style.
Disbursements
These are fees charged by service providers that we pay on your behalf, which is then shown on your funeral account. We add no mark up to these fees, therefore what we pay to the provider is what you are charged. These services include:
- Newspaper Notices
- Floral tributes
- Memorial Cards
- DVD Presentation
- Clergy/Celebrants
- Musicians
- Catering
- Video
- Cremation Fees
- Cemetery Fees
- Death Certificates
An estimate of the funeral will be given to you at the time of the arrangement after all of your decisions are made. This estimate will be a comprehensive breakdown of the costs and generally the only estimate is that of the newspaper notices.
When is the Funeral Account due for Payment?
The funeral account will be sent out to you a few days after the service. You are given a few weeks to finalise this account, but if you are having hardship in paying this please let us know.
